Sheher-e-Khaas Champions Trophy 2022 Football Tournament was kick-started today in Eidgah with Zeal & Passion. The tournament is being organised by JK Sports Trust in support of J&K Sports Council.

The opener of the tournament was held between National Dalgate FC and Young Rangreth FC. And it was National Dalgate FC that came out on top in a tightly contested match and won with a scoreline of 1-0. The game was witnessed by a huge number of viewers who were enchanted by the skills and talent of both the teams.

Both the teams thanked the organizers for conducting the tournament as football in Srinagar has been in middle of controversies and politics.

Javeed Shah was awarded with Man of the Match award for his brilliant performance.

It was honour for us to play a friendly game of football against the highly respected team JKSRTC.

In recognition to the contribution in Sports, the Goverment of Jammu & Kashmir conferred Mr. Majid Yousuf with the State Award for Outstanding Sports Person for the year 2018.

Majid is one of the most renowned names in Sports in the UT of J&K and has brought many laurels during his playing career. He has been awarded best footballer of the year by Department of Education J&K in 1998. Majid has represented J&K in tournaments like School Nationals, Junior Nationals, Santosh Trophy, I-League, Durand Cup, Federation Cup many times and has captained Kashmir University team for three consecutive years. Majid is the only sports person in the UT of J&K having a professional qualification in Sports Management and has served J&K State Team for Santosh Trophy as Manager in 2014, Team Manager for J&K Banks Football Team from 2011-2015, Sports Officer J&K Bank from 2015 - 2017 and presently he is working as Executive Officer in J&K Sports Council.

Majid has played an instrumental role in introducing I-League / Professional Football in J&K. He guided teams like Lonestar KFC, J&K Bank Football Academy, Real Kashmir FC and Sports Council Football Academy to enter into the ambit of I-League / professional football that created platform for many local players to showcase their talent in the highest level competition of the country and also helped in raising the infrastructure of such stature in the UT of J&K.

Majid belongs to a family of sports celebraties and is son of legendary Muhammad Yousuf Dar and is younger brother of Aslam Parvez & Sajid Yousuf Dar.

Chairman NIFF Mr Bashir Ahmed Malik congratulated Majid for receiving State Award and praised his contribution in developing the game of football in J&K.

Condolence

Our heartfelt condolences goes out to the family of Altaf Hussain Joo (Tatha Saeb) son of Haji Ghulam Ali Joo resident of Dalgate presently residing at Jan Mohalla Lal Bazar, Srinagar who left for heavenly abode today on 2nd May Monday 2022.

His death is a tragic loss to entire Dalgate.

Apart from being an honest and sincere person, he was a great sports lover. He always supported the sports development initiatives particularly in the dalgate area.

May Allah (SWT) grant him highest place in Jannah and give fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Peer Abdul Hameed Shah of Buchwara Dalgate Srinagar went for heavenly abode on March 14, 2022.
May Allah shower peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Our heartfelt condolences to entire Mir Family of Dalgate on the sad demise of Mir Mohammad Iqbal (Iqbal Bhaijan) who passed away today after a brief spell of illness.

He was a great human being and sports lover who devoted his entire life for the betterment society.

May his soul rest in peace and may Almighty Allah grant him highest place in Jannah....
