Two exciting matches were held today at the Hazrat Sheikh Momin Padshah Stadium in Dangarpora Padgampora Awantipora, as part of the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Premier League, organized by the J&K Development Foundation.

In the first match, Super Stars Kakapora claimed victory over Royal Rangers Malangpora by 20 runs. Batting first, Super Stars posted a challenging total of 148/7 in 20 overs. Basharat Nabi top-scored with 66 runs off 56 balls, while Syed Aariz contributed a crucial 46 runs off 22 deliveries. In response, Royal Rangers managed only 128/8 in their 20 overs, with Aariz also shining with the ball, taking 2 wickets and scoring a quickfire 45. His all-round performance earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match award. The match also featured Mr. Reyaz Ahmad, Range Officer of Forest Awantipora, as the chief guest, who was honored by the management.

In the second thrilling encounter, Shaheen XI Talangam edged past Baghe Nishaat Lethpora by just 1 wicket. Baghe Nishaat posted 117/9 in their 20 overs. Despite losing 9 wickets for 101 runs, Shaheen XI managed a remarkable last-wicket partnership, with number 11 batter Tawseef scoring a match-winning 15 runs. His all-round heroics, which included 2 wickets, earned him the Man of the Match award.

Organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Development Foundation, the league was inaugurated by Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, alongside esteemed guests including Bilal Parray, Chairman of the J&K Development Foundation, Mr. Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Secretary of Foundation, Superintendent of Police Awantipora Raashid Ahmad, Magistrate Shakeel Ahmad, and Assistant Commandant CRPF Vinay Kumar. With numerous prominent cricket clubs and teams from District Pulwama participating.
Dr. Andrabi commended the organizers, highlighting the league's potential to inspire and elevate the sports spirit among our talented youth.
