Why does tummy fat increase after 40… even if you eat less?
Many women notice that after 40, fat starts accumulating around the tummy area. Even when they try to eat less, the belly fat still increases. The reason is not just food.
Here are 3 common reasons:
• Hormonal Changes – After 40, estrogen levels start changing which can lead to more fat storage around the abdomen.
• Muscle Loss – With age, muscle mass gradually decreases. Less muscle means the body burns fewer calories.
• Slower Metabolism – The body’s metabolism slows down, so calories are burned more slowly than before.
The good news is that with the right nutrition, strength training, and lifestyle habits, it is possible to manage belly fat even after 40.
