Reformation Football Cup 2024-25: A Celebration of Sportsmanship and Community Engagement
The Reformation Football Cup 2024-25, a much-anticipated sporting event organized by the Youth Movement of Maharashtra, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Mumbra, and the Children's Islamic Organisation (CIO), concluded successfully on January 26, 2025. Held at the iconic Maulana Azad Stadium in Kausa, Mumbra, over three vibrant days—January 24, 25, and 26—the tournament brought together participants and spectators from across the region to celebrate sportsmanship, teamwork, and community spirit.
A Dual-Tier Football Extravaganza
The tournament featured two competitive categories. The first was a school-level competition, where 16 teams from Mumbra schools and one from Dombivli competed with remarkable enthusiasm. This provided young footballers a platform to showcase their talent and passion for the sport.
In the open division, eight teams from various parts of Mumbai, including Bhiwandi, Taloja, and the city itself, participated. The matches were intense and showcased the exceptional skills and teamwork of seasoned players.
More Than Just Football
To make the event a wholesome family affair, CIO organized a series of children’s games and activities alongside the football matches. These included drawing competitions, Islamic quizzes, basketball throws, the Ronaldo kick challenge, craft competitions, kabaddi, kho kho, running races, and more. The overwhelming response saw close to a thousand children registering for these activities, which added to the lively and engaging atmosphere. Spot prizes for winners further fueled excitement and joy among the young participants.
