United Way of Baroda, with the support of Hitachi Energy Limited under its CSR initiative, inaugurated the Urban Forest Development at the Tarsali STP Plant, Vadodara, marking a significant step towards strengthening the city’s green infrastructure and restoring urban ecosystems. Spread across 2,500 square metres, the Urban Forest comprises more than 5,000 trees representing around 50 native and suitable species. The initiative is designed to enhance urban green cover, promote biodiversity, improve air quality, support local ecosystems and create a sustainable green environment for the surrounding community.🌱

The Urban Forest is envisioned to evolve into a resilient ecological habitat over time, creating lasting environmental and social benefits for Vadodara and future generations. By transforming an existing urban space into a thriving green ecosystem, the initiative demonstrates how collaborative CSR action can contribute to sustainable urban development and environmental conservation.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. Nitesh Patel, Admin & HR Head, Hitachi Energy Limited; Mr. Balu Shukla, MLA, Raopura Vidhansabha; Ms. Geetaben Makwana, Mayor, Vadodara City; Mr. Arun Mahesh Babu, Commissioner, Vadodara Municipal Corporation; Mr. Akshay Budaniya, Deputy Commissioner, Vadodara Municipal Corporation; Mr. Minesh Patel, Vice Chairman, United Way of Baroda; and Mrs. Nilam Acharya, Executive Director, United Way of Baroda.

Breastfeeding lays the foundation for lifelong health, strengthens the bond between mother and child, and gives every newborn the opportunity to grow with dignity and strength. Yet, every mother deserves the knowledge, encouragement, and support to make this journey possible.

This World Breastfeeding Week, let us move beyond awareness and build a society that stands beside every mother, values her choice, and ensures that no child is denied the healthiest possible start to life. When we support breastfeeding, we invest not only in healthier families but in stronger, more compassionate communities for generations to come.
