This year’s ETC army is done, right on time. A US force with a Sherman company with Jumbo’s, 76’s, downgraded 75’s and cheap armoured mortars, it can get more meta than that.
The armour is accompanied by a rifle company, with 2 platoons of rifles, HMG’s, 57mm AT cannons and 2 mortar platoons. The rifles are painted up as the red bull division as the secret plan is to use them as the backbone of my Allied Italy army fighting around Cassino when ETC is over.
And because planes are awesome, I saved the points for two P-47 Thunderbolts.

Gentlemen, eventhough there is long time until we kick of this autumns Market Garden firestorm campaign 1st. of September, I have done the initial setup and preparations.
How is this online campaign played? For players that joined our Bagration camping it will be familiar as we do it 100% the same. For new players, I will make try and explain it here:
Each of the 5 turns in the campaign will comprise of 12 battle arrows. Each arrow is an attack from one area into another. This is the actual battles you the player, will play locally and report back to me, so the outcome have direct effect on our campaign.
You find your local opponent, both roll a dice and the highest roll decide where the battle will go on. Both players can then add firestorm troops to the battle that are in their area, so choose wisly. The winner of the battle will then get the opponents area on the map, so even if you are not deciding where the battle happens, you can still claim an area for your side.
The goal for the allies is ofcause to reach Arnhem and the axis' goal is to stop them.
I have made a folder on goggle drive, with the rules and photos for the maps, so you can see where everything is.
I recommend to read the rules in the drive and then ask any question you might still have, as firestorm can be quite hard to understand the first time you go through them, but first and foremost the goal is to have fun. Don't worry if there is something you miss or forget. Just have fun with your friends, paint up some new models and learn about history.
The overall genreals will be: Axis(Stuart, of 3ColoursPainted) and Allies(David Woolbright). They will have a meeting with me once a week to plan their strategy, deside reinforcements and airdrops.

Me and Soren had a practice game for ETC on wed.
We picked a mission that was not allowed for ETC shame on us.
I tried bringing my hetzers in a swarm to assault infantry in a forest.
After 15 failed cross i ended up using infantry to clear a minefield outside the forrest and get the win.
The lesson here is Hetzers dont like the woods.

Gunnar and I will use this autumn to play through Firestorm Arnhem. Everyone will be welcome to join. I’ll make it online as we did with the Bagration campaign last winter, so players all over the world can play in their local clubs.

ETC-army project, is back on, after the Blood bowl goblins took up all my time. I will be playing Americans this year, which shouldn’t be a surprise, as last I painted Flames of War I did a US Sherman company with Jumbos/76mm/75mm/M4 downgraded tanks.
I got hold of 3 blisters of metal armored rifle platoons a while back, but i haven’t been able to find metal HMG's and Mortar platoons in Battlefront metal and also not any metal 57mm guns. So once more I have bought some models from Forged in Battle. They are lovely sculpts, not dissimilar to Battlefronts old metal range, but they do come without bases.
The loader for the HMG's is modelled stangely, so no matter what I did, I simply couldn't get the ammo to reach the gun, soo while I was adding sandbags to the Mortar platoons, I added a little green stuff to make it look nicer once painted.
So now it's just painting. I haven't decided yet, on my final list, making it hard to paint. Should I go full armoured rifle? Or a Rifle Company as they can have 2x3 57mm guns and cheap mortars? Should i take the plane?
Well deadline is 9th of July so I better get decided and painting.
