After 10 beautiful years of practice, growth, and connection, Reykjavík Yoga will be closing its doors on August 31st. 🤍
This space has always been more than just a studio—it’s been a true home and a community. We are endlessly grateful for every teacher and student who shared their heart and made these past ten years so magical.
While this chapter is ending, a beautiful new one is beginning.
Our yoga family lives on!
You can continue to practice with us in person over at Yoga Shala, and we are currently creating an exciting new online platform so you will soon be able to join us from anywhere.
Let’s make this final summer season together truly unforgettable. We cannot wait to see you on the mat. ✨

This Monday, May 18, we celebrate 10 years of Reykjavík Yoga - 10 years of practicing together! To mark the occasion, we’d love to invite you to join us for a special 2-hour yoga immersion class with Elma.
This longer practice gives us the chance to slow down, dive deeper into each aspect of the practice, and truly experience it in both body and mind. Elma will guide the full session — she has been part of Reykjavík Yoga from the very beginning, first as a student and for the past 7 years as a teacher.
There will be space to leave after our regular 75 minutes, but we warmly encourage you to stay for the full experience and enjoy the magic of a longer practice.
We’ll be offering more immersion classes throughout the summer, and for those of you who haven’t tried one before, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience it — all included in the price of a regular class.

Dear community 🤍
Our downstairs neighbours are doing renovations this week, so we’ll have no classes from Tuesday (Feb 17) to Thursday (Feb 19).
While we’ll miss practicing together for a few days, we’re grateful for the improvements happening in the building.
We’ll see you back on the mat very soon!

Q: How do we experience inner peace?
A: By touching it.
The only way to touch it is by going through a journey to reach it first. This is how we experience it. We use our bodies, our breath, and our awareness. We move, we breathe, and we pay attention. There are a million ways to reach inner peace, but only one way to touch it. The journey we take uses the tools of Yoga. We listen to how the body responds in different postures (Asana). We notice what it feels like to move from one posture to another (Vinyasa). We feel how body and mind respond to the breath throughout the practice (Pranayama). In the end, our physical chemistry shifts, and we become capable of surrendering body and mind into stillness. It is here that we find inner peace. We touch it. And we remember. What do we remember? That is personal. It’s a secret. You need to do the work to find out. So come and find out for yourself. We practice tonight at 6:15pm.
