Iceland Cyclothon bicycle race around Iceland

WOW Cyclothon around Iceland Race was started by WOW Air's owner Skúli Mogensen in 2012. It takes p The Cyclothon is an annual event. Quite uinique experience!

In the first year 13 teams competed. The winners in the men's category finished the race in just under 41 hours, and the winners in the women's category finished the race in 43 hrs and 40 minutes. One cyclist cycles at a time and the team members take turns without an overnight break. This is only possible in Iceland as in June there's 24 hour daylight. In 2013 the event takes place June 19 to 22 ! Maximum 30 teams.

Unfortunately there will be no more Iceland Cyclothon at least for now.

The competition started in 2012 and the last event was held in 2021.

Iceland Cyclothon 2021 is planned 22 to 25 June. The event is sponsored by Siminn telecommunication company. There was no event in 2020 due to Covid-19.
