Some builds don’t need an announcement. This one does.

A COLNAGO Y1Rs is about to leave our workshop wearing a paint job that doesn’t exist anywhere else — not a stock colourway, not a limited edition. A one-off scheme, designed for this bike alone.

We’re not showing it yet.

Twenty-five years of change. One promise that never did.



This is the fifth generation of De Rosa Merak — the frame that stood under Romāns Vainšteins when he won the World Championship in Plouay in 2000, and has spent every generation since refusing to stand still.



700 grams for the frame. 280 for the fork. Lighter, yes — but this time lightness was developed alongside stability, not instead of it. Clean from the side. Muscular from the rear. Two personalities, one bike.



De Rosa calls it retrofuturistic. Memory and contemporaneity on the same tube. Merak doesn’t look back to be nostalgic — it looks back to prove it always knew how to change.

This is what “wireless” actually buys you: less to maintain, nothing to route, and shifting that reacts faster than you can second-guess it. Campagnolo didn’t simplify the groupset. They removed everything that wasn’t earning its place.

The Colnago Steelnovo — a real steel frame, Columbus tubing, built the way steel has always been built. Except for the lugs. Those are 3D printed. Steel, additively manufactured, joint by joint, with a precision no torch ever gave you.

Finished in a pale heritage blue that has nothing to do with speed and everything to do with intent, and built here with Campagnolo World Super Record WRL 2x13 wireless and Campagnolo WTO Ultra 45 in the Chrome edition — a build with the same conviction as the frame underneath it.

Thirteen speeds. One chainring. The math still works.

This Colnago V5Rs isn’t a limited edition, isn’t a factory colorway — it’s what happens when a client asks for something specific and we go all the way. Frame and cockpit both stripped of their original paint, a raw finish that isn’t just cosmetic: it took the frame alone down to 680 grams, and the Alanera RS cockpit went through the same process.

Underneath it all, Campagnolo Super Record 1x13 with integrated power meter — one chainring, thirteen speeds, and none of the compromise people still associate with 1x on a road bike. Rolling on Campagnolo WTO Ultra Chrome Edition, 60mm.

Total weight: 6.7 kilograms. Built, not assembled.
