When Conditions Change, Good Divers Change the Plan.
A dive plan is important. So is knowing when the plan no longer fits the conditions. Weather changes.
Visibility drops.
A current becomes stronger than expected.
A diver is tired.
Equipment does not feel right.
Good divers do not force the original plan simply because it was the original plan.
They reassess.
They simplify.
They change the site, reduce the objective—or decide not to dive.
Turning a dive is not a failure.
It is a decision made before a small problem has the chance to become a big one.
The goal of every dive is not to complete the plan at any cost.
The goal is to come back safely and want to dive again.
