The penultimate day of the Nacra València Cup at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia took place in favourable conditions, with winds averaging 12 knots from 240°. This allowed the fleet to complete four races, one more than the three originally scheduled.

Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco have regained the lead in the provisional standings with 27 points, just one point ahead of Sweden’s Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson on 28. With such a narrow margin separating the two crews, the title remains wide open heading into the final day.

Patience paid off in València yesterday ⏳

The wind took its time but another three races were completed, and the leaderboard got a shake up.

🇸🇪 Järudd and Jonsson now lead on 13 points
🇦🇷 Majdalani and Bosco sit second on 19
🇳🇿 Wilkinson and Stewart hold third on 23

Switzerland’s Marie Mazuay and Clément Guignard and Australia’s Ruben and Rita Booth both picked up race wins too.

Sweden’s Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson have taken the overall lead at the Nacra València Cup, organised by the RCN de Valencia, after the fleet completed the three scheduled races on the second day of competition. The Swedish crew overtakes Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco, silver medallists at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, who had led the standings after the opening day.

Catching up on day one of the Nacra Cup València 🌊

Three races, solid breeze and a fleet of 24. Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco set the pace with two race wins and a second. Behind them it’s tight, with Sweden’s Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson and New Zealand’s Micah Wilkinson and Kate Stewart level on 9 points.

The Nacra Cup kicks off tomorrow at Real Club Náutico de Valencia and the entry list is stacked. 24 teams, 48 athletes and 18 countries from five continents, all lining up on the same start line.

Four days of racing from Wednesday to Saturday, a sailors BBQ on Friday night and the prize giving to close it out on Saturday.
