My name is Iacopo, and I am an Historical Fencing student of the Fisas method.

I run the Confraternita della Spada in Florence, Italy where we practice four historical weapons: two handed sword, sidesword, rapier and sabre.

What do you think of this? :)

The rapier collection a few years ago. Most of these have been now sold. I only kept three of them. Makrs are Del Tin , Danelli, Feest, Hrbaty.

New and old model: the new version of the hilt has the shells with integrated plaque for fitting the blade, while before it was a separate piece.

First time making a somewhat decent scabbard, aka not made of plastic or cardboard. Used balsa wood, leather, and alluminum wire. The result looks nice from a distance, and that's more then I was expecting. The best part is the retention of the blade with leather around the mouth of the scabbard. You can put everything upside down and the sword won't come loose. Quite pleased with that. Looking at period scabbards I noticed that the belt hanger was quite low. Being a modern man and therefore assuming I knew better, I put it higher. It was a nice reminder that people in the past didn't do stuff just randomly. They did it because it worked better, and this was no exception. If you're making a scabbard for a sword from this era, keep the belt hanger lower then I did, the whole thing will function better.

Some Italian sabres from a local collector are for sale. If you're interested let me know.

Could this be usual Del Tin left hand dagger sold at auction as an antique? With a smallsword shell welded to the side to make it more interesting? You decide. See pic from the sale side by side with pic from the Del Tin catalogue.
Must be added that in their previous sale they had two other Del Tin daggers, one of them correctly identified, the other classified as a XIX sec replica.

Edit: Del Tin confirmed that this is actually one of his models, an earlier production, and later modified by someone else.

Latest one acquired. Spatha inspired sword. Made by the excellent Gael Fabre. Very nice weapon, very different handling from what I am used to but interesting. The pattern welded steel is made visible but not too much. Scabbard and belt made by me, first time making one

Some of my favourite replicas from my collection, including an excellent new entry, a wonderful spatha made by Gael Fabre.
