I was invited to visit the garden firm Amorfini gardens to meet their team and do a trial run for an upcoming design workshop for Calendimaggio in Fivizzano which I will be doing for them.
I felt I was in an episode of Ted Lasso as I was still coaching the total novice Chiara, who produced an excellent first design, as the gardening team started to come in at the end of day.
Great pep talk by the coach to the team, I learned a lot and felt like a total Rebecca. All right I was tired and needed a nap cause I was hallucinating.
Thanks everyone, I’m looking forward to working with you all! .

A utilitarian dirt road running alongside a Renaissance Villa is transformed by a properly built ‘cordonata’ which links it to the expanded area of the gardens, which include ornamental vegetable gardens, swimming pool, wide seating area.
The treads and side are made in stone, a proper draining sub-base has been laid and compacted, then the final layer of gravel is laid. The new road has broad steps for a comfortable walk uphill and solves the problems of drainage and runoff in an elegant and traditional manner. Not only is this consistent with the historical building, but this is an ecological solution because the water drains sideways and through, slowly, unlike other impermeable solutions which, over such a wide surface, would massively increase the damage from runoff.
Look at old and traditional gardens for solutions to preserve the soil and the future of our environment.
