It is better to strengthen the strength of a young hero than to try to weaken and disarm his enemy; that, growing an oak tree in a greenhouse, faithfully caring for it day and night, protecting it from the slightest breath of breeze, you cannot hope that it will become as strong and mighty as an oak that grew on a mountain slope, open to the riot of all the elements, and experienced even storms.
