ON THE FRONT LINE AGAINST COVID-19
During the 2020 lockdown, in collaboration with the Villa Scassi hospital and local health companies, the 38-year-old Mectrotech CEO, Carmelo Chiarenza, developed a new interface system between the antiviral filters of hospital respirators and many types of commercial, military and civil masks existing on the market. He also developed breakthrough filtering systems for diving masks. For this commitment in fighting COVID-19, Chiarenza was awarded by the Municipality of Genoa.
