Sometimes you find a place, and sometimes a place finds you.
Two years ago, we came across an old mountain spring in Gorno, Italy, quite unexpectedly — and yet, from the beginning, there was a strange sense of recognition.
As if we were reconnecting with something we hadn’t known we were looking for.
Fontana Vecchia means “old fountain” — an old source, a place where water emerges from the earth and continues its journey.
For us, it became a metaphor for what we want to create here.
A place where people can reconnect - with themselves, with their bodies, with each other, with nature, and with their own creative source.
We call it Danza del Serpente.
A place where art and life meet.
Where the wisdom and freedom of the body can be explored through movement, voice, music, Tai Chi, visual art and other forms of expression.
A place for artists, practitioners, families, friends, travellers - and anyone who feels called to slow down, listen and create.
We want to make space for voices to emerge and echo through the mountains.
For stories to be shared.
For bodies to move.
For ideas to flow.
For people to meet.
The serpent and the spring carry something in common: both speak of movement, of following a natural course, of something that emerges from within and finds its way outward.
Perhaps this is what Danza del Serpente is about - finding our own source, and allowing what lives within us to flow.
In the process, perhaps we discover a different way of moving through the world.
Like the serpent -
alive, curious, changing, always becoming.
If this resonates with you, join us, follow the journey, come visit, and help us spread the word.
