History was written on the final day.
Como have secured Champions League football for the first time in the club’s history, while Roma return to the Champions League for the first time since 2018 after finishing 3rd.
At the other end, another historic statistic emerged: for the first time since 1992/93, both Milan and Juventus have failed to qualify for the Champions League.
The relegation battle delivered a brutal ending too. Como dismantled a Cremonese side fighting for survival, while Lecce’s second straight win secured a fourth consecutive season in Serie A under EDF, who avoids a third successive relegation. Cremonese, meanwhile, are heading straight back down to Serie B.
And as if the season finale wasn’t enough, the managerial carousel has already started spinning. Allegri has been sacked, Sarri has left Lazio to join Atalanta, and Gattuso is the new Lazio manager.

For those of you looking to add some spice to the World Cup, our friend David Camilleri is back with his World Cup Prediction Game!
David used to run the whole thing through Google Forms every major international tournament. This time, he’s gone a step further and built a dedicated website, making it much easier to submit predictions, edit them throughout the competition, create private leagues and keep track of the standings.
David was kind enough to set up a private Serie A Spotlight league, so Matt and I will be taking part and we’d love to see some of you join us.
Registration is €10, with all proceeds going towards SGB Salesjani as they prepare for another season.
Test your football knowledge, support a great cause, and compete against our community!

Inter lift the trophy and complete the double for the first time since 2010, while Napoli secure Champions League football.
The top four race goes into the final day wide open. Milan, Roma and Como all win, while Juventus lose at home to Fiorentina and drop from 3rd to 6th with one game left.
Milan and Roma are level on 70 points in 3rd and 4th, with Milan ahead on head-to-head. Como and Juventus are level on 68 points in 5th and 6th, with Como ahead on head-to-head.
Final day fixtures:
Milan vs Cagliari
Hellas Verona vs Roma
Cremonese vs Como
Torino vs Juventus
Atalanta secure Conference League football, with Bologna unable to overturn the head-to-head deficit despite the points gap remaining at three. Their positions in 7th and 8th are now confirmed.
At the bottom, Cagliari secure safety with a win over Torino. Lecce and Cremonese both win away from home, meaning just one point separates them heading into the final matchday.
Lecce host Genoa. Cremonese host Como, who are chasing Champions League football.
If Lecce and Cremonese finish level on points, the season will be decided by a relegation play-off.
