Dal 1700 il pattinaggio diventa lentamente un'attività destinata al divertimento e con la metà del 1800 uno sport vero e proprio. Gli inverni freddi permettevano alle persone di approfittare dei fiumi e dei laghi per passare per i momenti di svago sul ghiaccio e anche in Italia si cominciava ad attrezzarsi....

il pattinaggio su ghiaccio nasce nei freddi territori del Nord fin da tempi remoti per necessità legate al trasporto su ghiaccio di merci e persone. Dapprima in osso, poi in legno con lame di ferro via via sempre più curate nella realizzazione.
