For the third ride of the Tour De LA we decided to leave the concrete jungle of LA and explore the Hintergrund of Malibu. Most of the world associates Malibu with its amazing beaches and ocean vistas, but for the uninitiated, there are some serious mountains around there. As usual, we included some hidden gems in the route, some of those gems are so hidden that most local cyclists had only heard of them let alone actually seen or ridden them. ⁠⁠

An iconic original, restored and rendered in a sparkly new aesthetic by our Brazilian brothers at the . The Caloi 10 (as in ten speed) was the first racing bike to be fully manufactured in Brazil, quickly becoming a mainstay for generations of cycling savants throughout the 70’s and 80’s. And now, in '22 these two wheels of tradition have never looked better.

It’s a build that’s special because it shouldn’t exist.

Not because it doesn’t deserve to. It shouldn’t exist because of the infinitesimal probability of someone like Fanie Kok finding an old frame in a warehouse and taking the time and care to create something this fantastic and idiosyncratic and just...perfect.

But this is how the universe works. The powerful changes are enacted by those who fundamentally give a s**t. Those who stop and ask the hard questions. Those like Jim Merz who still celebrate the magic of a steel bike. The trail builders that Fanie and Soil Searching advocate for, who simply want to create amazing natural resources for their communities. For the same reason that Fanie Kok came knocking on our door a minute after closing, leaving a trail of flower petals scattered in his wake, looking for the perfect birthday present for his wife.

This bike is an unequivocal celebration of all of the individuals out there who are willing to shrug everything off and ask, “well why the hell not?”

That sits pretty damn well with us.

The Hangar of Tenacity is our new home located on the quays of Bordeaux. We went from a 200 m2 pop-up store to a 400 m2 Deus Utopia which hosts, among other things, a shaping bay, a bar and a restaurant driven by our chef Lorenzo. From the pistachio coloured ice cream lab (our favorite flavour) or the open kitchen, he and his team are introducing us to street-food across the globe based on top quality organic and local products.

On the store side, we present a selection of boards handmade by our master shapers: and in Biarritz. The shaping bay located at the back of the store will open its doors from time to time and will allow you to admire the shapers in action.

Bikes are an integral element of Bordeaux life and of our DNA. Our range of technical products has logically found its place at the heart of the store.

At the end of the week, as night falls, the store closes and the DJs from here and elsewhere put their turntables on the bar and play their favorite tracks and everyone grooves until closing time.

Strollers, rollers, sliders and nibblers meet at the Hangar of Tenacity - Quai des Chartrons - Hangar 16.

reaching new heights on the Deus Super Saltafoss

The latest release by is not the average motorcycle. It’s not a motorcycle at all, it’s a bicycle, yet it’s not the average bicycle. It’s the SUPER73-RX – As good in looks as it is in performance. 

When it came to riding the bike, the first memory that popped into the mind of the Deus Workshop team came from the golden era of Saltafoss and that unique design. We couldn’t resist the idea of bringing those times back and the starting point was perfect.

Out of the factory, the SUPER73-RX already features a fully adjustable double suspension, and a powerful brake system to manage the 2000-watt peak power motor.

So, we got busy on the collaboration and gave a Deus twist to the RX.

- New paint featuring a shocking light blue for 80’s vibes
- Back loop and flag for a comfortable ride and to make this cool bike easy to spot
- A thick, handmade seat with a logo embroidered on the back for a comfortable ride

Last but not least: the test drive. Guys, let me confirm that was big, fat fun.
