Wiele drużyn kieruje się zasadą „do it yourself”, czyli samodzielnie organizuje sport, treningi, mecze i turnieje. Worst Warsaw Derby Team jest jedną z pierwszych drużyn w Polsce, działamy od marca 2014r. Jesteśmy , wydawałoby się, przypadkową grupą dziewczyn, pracujemy, mamy rodziny, studiujemy... To co nas połączyło, to chęć skopania sobie samej tyłka na ciężkim treningu, potrzeba działania w drużynie i zdobycie nowych przyjaciół i oczywiście, w niedalekiej przyszłości, pokazanie się przeciwniczkom z NAJGORSZEJ strony! Może jesteśmy uśmiechnięte i słodko wyglądamy, ale uwierzcie nam, to tylko pozory. Na torze wychodzą z nas nasze najdziksze instynkty! What is Roller Derby? Roller Derby is a contact sport played by two teams of five members roller skating in the same direction around a track. Game play consists of a series of short matchups ("jams") in which both teams designate a scoring player (the "jammer") who scores points by lapping members of the opposing team. The teams attempt to assist their own jammer while hindering the opposing jammer—in effect, playing both offense and defense simultaneously. Roller Derby has its origins in the banked-track roller skating marathons of the 1930s. Modern roller derby is an international sport dominated by all-female amateur teams. A large number of contemporary roller derby leagues are amateur, self-organized and all-female and were formed in a DIY spirit by relatively new roller derby enthusiasts.
