🇮🇹Per Ivan Cappellari, atleta adaptive non vedente, e Anna Lia Chiti, la sua guida, l’OCC è stata molto più di una gara: la prima volta nelle Valli del Monte Bianco da corridori, il coronamento di un sogno inseguito a lungo e un’avventura vissuta insieme, passo dopo passo.
La loro corsa si è conclusa a un cancello orario, come quella di molti altri atleti, proprio quando le gambe andavano alla grande. Ma il valore di questa esperienza va molto oltre un traguardo: essere partiti da Orsières per meriti propri, senza un pettorale riservato, è già un grandissimo risultato.
Resta la gioia di aver visto un sogno realizzarsi, l’orgoglio per quanto hanno costruito e la consapevolezza di aver fatto tesoro di un’esperienza in una delle corse più selettive al mondo. La voglia di riscatto è tanta: chissà che l’appuntamento non sia già per il prossimo anno.
🇬🇧For Ivan Cappellari, a blind adaptive athlete, and his guide Anna Lia Chiti, the OCC was much more than a race: their first time in the Mont Blanc Valleys as runners, the fulfilment of a long-held dream and an adventure experienced together, step by step.
Their race came to an end at a cut-off point, as it did for many other athletes, just as their legs had started to feel good. But the value of this experience goes far beyond the finish line: starting in Orsières on their own merit, without a reserved bib, was already a remarkable achievement.
What remains is the joy of seeing a dream come true, pride in all they have built and the awareness that they have gained invaluable experience in one of the world’s most selective races. The desire to come back stronger is already there: perhaps next year will bring another chance.
