Today is International Whale Shark Day, a day to celebrate whale sharks and raise awareness about the need to protect them.

Whale Sharks are the largest fish species in the world, growing an average of 5.5 m - 10 m. They are typically found in tropical oceans and feed on plankton and small fish.

They have a swimming speed of around 3 mph / 4.8 kph and every whale shark has a pattern of spots and stripes that is unique!
