The winter solstice has ancient roots in Iranian culture and Mithraism, where it marked the rebirth of light after the longest night, symbolizing renewal and victory over darkness. The sacred evergreen Sarv (cypress) of Iran—present in mythology, ritual traditions, and even echoed in the Zurkhaneh—represented eternal life, strength, and cosmic order, much like the later Christian Christmas tree, another evergreen symbol of hope in winter. Christmas did not emerge in a vacuum; it rests upon much older Indo-Iranian solar traditions that traveled from Parthian Iran to Rome through Mithraic and Sol Invictus beliefs, eventually shaping the Christian celebration. Even the story of the Three Magi reflects this heritage, as they were Persian priest-astrologers bringing ancient Iranian wisdom into the Christian narrative.
With this simple reflection, we can remember that no religion stands above humanity: may we live peacefully and let everyone live, because this is the greatest lesson of all.

🏛️ Il Pahlevani o Zurkhaneh non è solo allenamento: è rituale, meditazione in movimento, memoria viva degli eroi dello Shahnameh. Una pratica dove la forza si unisce all’etica e alla spiritualità, al suono del zarb, sotto la guida del Morshed.

💠 Pa zadan (passi ritmici), sheno (piegamenti rituali), meel (clave persiane), sang (scudi lignei), kabade (arco di ferro) e charkh zadan (rotazioni sacre) trasformano il corpo in uno strumento di virtù: coraggio, umiltà, compassione.

🌀 Ogni gesto è simbolico, ogni sessione è un atto sacro. Pahlevani è arte, cultura e disciplina interiore.
