This week, the West Fargo Flyers will be participating in #๐ฆ๐๐ถ๐บ๐๐ถ๐ธ๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐, an annual awareness and fundraising event held October 1โ7 to continue the good work and legacy of Grant Freeze by raising awareness about organ and tissue donation and providing resources to schools, swim clubs, and swimming organizations across the country.
Grant Freeze was a 16-year-old elite high school swimmer from Wisconsin who tragically passed away in October 2025 following a car accident while on his way to swim practice. Grant had received his driverโs license just seven weeks earlier and made the decision to become an organ donor.
Grant was widely recognized as one of the top 15โ16-year-old swimmers in the country and was on a path toward a potential Olympic future. Through ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ, his family continues his legacy by encouraging young athletes to make a difference both in and out of the pool.
From October 1 - 7, Flyers groups will swim the ๐ฆ๐๐ถ๐บ ๐๐ถ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ set. For every team that participates using #๐ฆ๐๐ถ๐บ๐๐ถ๐ธ๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐, the Freeze family will donate $25 to support scholarships and awards.
Weโre proud to be part of this effort and to honor Grantโs legacy through something we all share - a love of swimming.
