Interesting Cannatella from the 1940s, rebuilt in the 1950s. Fortunately the dropouts were not filed, so it could be restored if desired. Personally, I would keep it as it is, since the modifications are part of the bike’s history and show how it evolved over time

Just like in art restoration, where later brushstrokes are sometimes preserved for their historical value, these changes tell an important part of the story

In theory, English-threaded bottom brackets are better than Italian ones.
In practice, after handling thousands of vintage bikes over the years, I can say I’ve found every kind of problem imaginable… but never a loose Italian-threaded bottom bracket

That’s the irony! Actually, they’re usually very hard to remove

I got it personally from Dazzan years ago. It's decaled De Rosa because De Rosa was the Dazzan sponsor at the time but Octavio prefered Nagasawa frames
