THE SEA NEVER REALLY CHANGES

There are things only the sea can teach you.

And when you have lived with it long enough, you stop looking at boats as objects.
You begin to read them as chapters of our story.

I still remember the primal fascination of the very first vessels: sails and oars.
No luxury, no superstructures, no comfort.
Just man, wood, wind, bare arms… and that endless horizon that was both terrifying and irresistible.

Those boats were born to endure, to challenge the sea, to search for a route when everything around was still unknown.

Then the engine arrived.
Small, loud, almost brutal.
And with it came something we had not yet truly named: the hunger for speed.

It was never only about going faster.
It was the desire to feel the sea rushing beneath the hull like a living creature.
It was adventure, freedom, conquest.

Then came the yachts.

And that is when I understood that the sea was changing once again.

We were no longer only trying to cross it.
We wanted to live it.

Larger spaces, comfort, salons, cabins, light, materials, details.
The boat was becoming a home, a refuge, the physical shape of a dream.

But today, after so many years, looking at the new generation of mega yachts, I feel that we are somehow returning to the essence.

The more time passes, the more we try to move closer to the water again.

Beach clubs opening directly onto the sea.
Fold-down terraces.
Platforms at water level.
Spaces dissolving into the horizon line.

As if, after chasing speed and then comfort, we have finally understood something deeply human:

we never truly wanted to move away from the sea.

We have always been searching for a way to feel it closer.

Perhaps this is what truly defines modern yachting.

Not size.
Not speed.
Not luxury alone.

But the ability to erase the boundary between architecture and water.

Because in the end, every great project is still driven by the same ancient instinct:

to belong to the sea, not simply to sail on it.

And maybe that is the most honest truth a man of the sea can confess after a lifetime:

the sea never really changes.

It is we who, with time, finally learn how to listen.
