☄️ COMETS CONTINUE THEIR WINNING START ☄️
Another emphatic victory for our Chirpy’s Tier 2 Comets, who made it two league wins from two with a 54-run success against Walkovers at FB Fields.
Asked to bat first, the Comets produced an outstanding total of 188/4 from their 20 overs.
Captain Beau Tinari-Lee set the tone at the top of the innings, reaching the Tier 2 retirement milestone with an unbeaten 33 from 24 balls. He was replaced by Leo Sithamparanathan, who continued the momentum in superb fashion, racing to 33 not out from just 16 deliveries with some excellent clean striking.
Both were well supported by several of the younger players, who made important contributions as the Comets built a commanding total.
In reply, Walkovers’ chase was put under immediate pressure when Rory Simpson removed the dangerous Hongekar for 0, providing the perfect start for the Comets.
Sharp fielding and disciplined bowling ensured the visitors were never able to build the momentum required. Toby Johnson returned late in the innings to claim an excellent 3/12 from his four overs, helping dismiss Walkovers for 134.
Noah Morrison struck a well-made 42 for Walkovers, but the target always remained out of reach as the Comets completed another convincing victory.
A brilliant all-round team performance from the boys, with runs throughout the order, excellent energy in the field and wickets shared across the attack.
Chirpy’s Comets 188/4
Walkovers 134 all out

Our Chirpy’s Tier 2 Comets return to league action this evening as they take on a strong Walkovers side at FB Fields.
The Comets head into their second league fixture of the season looking to build on their opening day win against fellow Chirpy’s side, the Cyclones. Beau Tinari-Lee leads the team again tonight, with a number of the squad coming into the game in good form across the Chirpy’s pathway.
George Le Boutillier has been in particularly strong touch with the bat recently, and the Comets will be hoping he can carry that confidence into tonight’s fixture.
We also welcome Toby Johnson and Rory Simpson into the side this evening, adding more depth and energy to what should be a really good contest.

✅ 3 from 3 for the Commanders! ✅
Our Chirpy’s Commanders U15s continued their excellent start to the season this morning with a convincing victory over Farmers CC in the Jersey Cricket MCMJ Tier 1 Competition.
After being asked to field first, the boys produced another disciplined performance with the ball, restricting Farmers to 96/9 from their 20 overs. Captain Charlie Caunt led from the front with outstanding figures of 3/5, while Freddie Cornic continued his impressive season with 2/8.
The chase was then approached with maturity and intent. George Le Boutillier anchored the innings superbly with 41 from just 24 balls as the Commanders reached their target in only 13.4 overs, finishing on 97/4.
Most pleasing of all was another complete team performance. Every player contributed in some way, whether with bat, ball or in the field, as the squad showed the depth and development that continues to drive this group forward.
A special mention also to Bertie Shelton and Rafi Hern, who returned to the side during their half-term break and played their part in another strong display.
Three league games. Three victories. Plenty of positives to build on as the season continues.
