🏏 Honours Board – Final Update of 2026 🏏

With the 2026 season now officially finished, we have one final addition to this year’s Batting Honours Board!

Tom Kearns adds his name after an excellent 75 not out against the MCC in our final fixture of the season.

A huge well done to all the Chirpy’s players who earned their place on the Honours Board this season. Every entry represents a fantastic individual achievement and contribution to the club.

Here’s hoping we see even more names and plenty more big innings in 2027! 👏🏏

🏏 CHIRPY’S SOCIAL XI VS MCC 🏏

A great afternoon of cricket down at LQ1 as our Social XI took on the MCC in our annual fixture.

We won the toss and elected to field, and our juniors really stepped up with a strong bowling performance against a quality MCC batting line-up. 👏

Lucas Kearns and Neal Davies were our main wicket-takers, picking up 2 wickets each to keep us right in the game. 💪

In reply, Tom Kearns led the way with an excellent 75 not out*, including 4 sixes, helping Chirpy’s reach 169 all out.

Although MCC came away with the win by 44 runs, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, particularly the contribution from our juniors. 💙

A massive well done to everyone who represented Chirpy’s Social XI — a fantastic effort against a very strong MCC side.

🌧️ Chiefs 2nd XI – Fixture Abandoned 🌧️

Unfortunately, the final game of the season for Chirpy’s Chiefs 2nd XI has been called off due to the ongoing rain at FB.

It’s a disappointing way to finish the season, especially with the boys ready to take on Project Accountants, but what an incredible season it has been for the Chiefs.

There have been so many achievements, milestones and memorable moments throughout the year, with our young players continuing to step up and make their mark in senior cricket. 💙🏏

A huge well done to everyone who has represented the 2nd XI this season. You should all be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved.

The future is looking very bright for Chirpy’s! 💙

🏏 Chirpy’s Social XI 🏏

The final fixture of 2026 for Chirpy’s Cricket Club is here, with our Social XI taking on the MCC in our 3rd annual fixture against the MCC.

It’s a 30-over game and we’ll be giving five of our juniors the opportunity to finish the season by representing the Social XI and testing themselves against the MCC.

It’s been another fantastic season for the club, and we’ll be hoping to finish it on a high.

🏏 Chirpy’s Chiefs 2nd XI 🏏

Our Chiefs 2nd XI are in action bright and early on Saturday morning at FB2, as they take on Project Accountants in their final fixture of the season.

This will be a historic day for Chirpy’s Cricket Club, as we field a team made up entirely of U16 players, with no senior players taking part.

This will be the first time in the club’s history that we have fielded a senior team made up entirely of juniors — and, we’re sure, it won’t be the last! 💙

This is a fantastic reflection of the work being done through our Academy and junior pathway, giving our young players the opportunity to step up and represent the club at senior level.

Good luck, lads. Go out there, enjoy the occasion, and represent Chirpy’s with pride. We know you’ll do the club proud! 👏🏏

🏏 Chirpy’s Academy Presentation Evening 🏏

We’re delighted to announce that our annual Chirpy’s Academy Presentation Evening will take place on Friday 18th September at Tamba Bowl. 🎳🏏

The evening is a chance for us to celebrate the achievements, development and commitment of all the young players who have represented our 7 Academy teams throughout the 2026 season.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to recognise everyone’s hard work and celebrate what has been another great year for the Chirpy’s Academy.

We look forward to seeing all our Academy players there! 💙🏏

🏏 New Honours Board Entry 🏏

Another name has been added to the 2026 Batting Honours Board!

👏 Owen Woolgar earns his place after an outstanding 50 not out against Walkovers Social on Saturday.

Owen brought up his half-century from just 28 balls, including an impressive 9 fours in his innings. A fantastic knock to help the Chiefs secure the victory!

Well done, Owen! 💙🏏

🏏 Match Result – Chiefs 2nd XI 🏏

Chirpy’s Chiefs 2nd XI won by 7 wickets! 💙🏏

Today the Chiefs took on Walkovers Social down at LQ. We were asked to bowl first and got off to a strong start, taking regular wickets before a good partnership allowed Walkovers to build their total.

The fielding was on point throughout, with some excellent work from our juniors. Azmaan took 2 wickets, while Harrison, Tom and Lucas picked up a wicket each, with Owen adding a run out.

In reply, we lost a few early wickets before Jacob and Charlie put together a strong partnership through to the 10th over.

Then came a brilliant innings from Owen! In his first innings of 2026, he smashed a 50 from just 28 balls before retiring. Harrison then hit the winning runs with a four from his first ball, while Charlie finished unbeaten on 38, holding the innings together brilliantly.

A fantastic team performance and a great result for the Chiefs.

The win leaves us with 2 wins and 1 loss in our T20 campaign so far. Well done to everyone involved! 👏

🏏 Chirpy’s Chiefs 2nd XI vs Walkovers Social 🏏

Tomorrow our Chiefs 2nd XI are back in action as they take on Walkovers Social in a T20 at LQ.

Captain Caunt returns this week and will lead the side as the Chiefs look to bounce back from last week’s narrow 1-run defeat.

This week we’ll have three father-and-son combinations taking part, with the Caunts, Woolgars and Johnsons all representing the Chiefs together. A fantastic reflection of the family spirit within Chirpy’s Cricket Club! 💙🏏
