You can be as knowledgeable as you like regarding any particular subject, weather this be your health, fitness, nutrition or how to grow the perfect Christmas tree. You can literally find all the information you need regarding these subjects and millions of others on the internet, in this day and age you have no excuse for not having access to the information that you seek !
But what happens when you have acquired this information? It’s times to set yourself some goals, few individuals get as far as this step when in actual fact writing your goals down on a piece of paper is a extremely powerful thing.
Writing down that you want to lose weight or compete at a competitive level or even go for that new promotion at your job is fantastic. But did you know there is one extra step ?
Why do you want to lose weight ? Why do you want that promotion ? The mere principle of saying I want .... will not provide you with the driving force to get up every morning at 5am to work towards your goals, it won’t motivate you to stay up late and it defiantly won’t ensure you have the driving force needed to see it through even when tough times present themselves to you !
Perhaps you want to lose weight so you can fit into that dress you have always wanted. You don’t just want to lose weight , you want to lose weight so you feel more confident, so you feel a sense of accomplishment this all boils down to living a life of choice!
There is a very good chance that if you are struggling for motivation or you have hit a plateau and are no longer moving forward in relation to your goals, you need to take a step back and figure out why you are in pursuit of them. Once you have found your “why” you will have the willpower and the motivation to chase your goals regardless of any adversity you may face along the way!
As humans we need to have purpose. Stagnation, retirement, a decade of doing nothing, it leads to death! Keeping both the body and the mind busy are vital to not only health, but happiness too.
Take a moment to reflect on your own life, why are you waking up each morning? What is your compelling reason that drives you ?
