The Hex Bar Stiff Leg Deadlift (With a Dead Stop) is one of the most underrated exercises in my opinion. Here is why I program this for my athletes/ clients: (NB: This exercise is better aimed at clients or athletes that have considerate gym experience as to decrease the risk of injury caused by inexperience)

▪️​Increased Range of Motion: The neutral positioning (being inside the bar) allows for a deeper hinge without the barbell hitting your shins. You get a deeper stretch where it matters most.

▪️​Zero Momentum: By pulling from a dead stop, you eliminate the "stretch reflex" or bounce. This forces your hamstrings and glutes to produce 100% of the force from a standstill.

▪️​Maximized Tension: Every rep is a fresh start, extending the total time under tension and ensuring you aren't just moving weight—you’re masterfully controlling it.


Training hard is half the battle; training smart is where the results live.

A proper dynamic warm-up:
✅ Increases blood flow to active muscles.
✅ Improves joint range of motion.
✅ Primes your central nervous system for heavy loads.

As an ISSA certified PT, one of the top 5 mistakes I see is diving into heavy lifts without a proper warm up. You wouldn't build a house on a shaky foundation, don't build your session on unprepared muscles and joints.
