Another great representation for Team Jamaica on the international Weightlifting Platform, at the IWF World Championships hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

This is the 3rd time we have been able to send a squad to the World Championships, and a step in the right direction towards continuing our development and growth in the sport of weightlifting.

Congratulations to our delegation;

• Omarie Mears ( ) competed on Sunday 10th, in the Men’s 81kg Category. Placing 5th in his group, and 22nd overall in the Championships.

• James Daley ( ) competed on Tuesday 12th in the Men’s 96kg category, placing 5th overall in his group, and 23rd overall in the Championships.

• To Coach Mehmed Fikretov ( ) for Coaching our Athletes at the Championships.

Introducing our team that will represent Jamaica Weightlifting at the upcoming Weightlifting Championships hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 4 - 17th September.

Jamaica Weightlifting was represented well by our athletes and coaches. As a federation this was our first appearance at the Central America & Caribbean Games in El Salvador, and we look forward to growing our competitiveness on the international platform.
