IKDJ "Jamaica Shotokan Karate School"

Today marks 02 years since the passing of Hirokazu Kanazawa sensei.

A direct student of Masatoshi Nakayama (and eventually Gichin Funakoshi), Hirokazu Kanazawa had been a major contributor to the development of the Japan Karate Association (JKA) in its early days.

Since his youth, he has been famous for his great achievements. His audacious idealizations consequently gave him the reputation of being one of the most renowned Karate instructors of the contemporary era, being decorated by the International Martial Arts Federation (IMAF) as the first in the Shōtōkan Karate history to reach the 10th Dan while still alive! In the opinion of many, Hirokazu Kanazawa was the ultimate authority in Shōtōkan Karate!
