"The terr0r!sts said Mr. Michael Oyedokun disobeyed them. They said he d!ed because he disobeyed their order. That day, when we arrived at the forest, they told us to drop all our phones, and we did. However, we didn't know that Mr. Michael Oyedokun had not dropped his own. A terr0r!st who was sitting with him on the motorcycle discovered the phone in his pocket and began questioning him. The teacher said he didn't hear when they gave the instruction. Immediately, the terr0r!st slapped him, and when their commander heard about it, he became furious.

They had two commanders: a General Commander and a Camp Commander. The General Commander said, "If I don't k!ll anyone, I must k!ll this man for disobeying my order."

The following day, Mr. Michael Oyedokun was k!lled. He was shouting as they dragged him away. He kept begging, and his cries were so loud, but later... there was no more noise.

A terr0r!st who looked about 17 or 18 years old came back later, dancing and singing to celebrate the teacher's de@th.

Mr. John Olaleye was k!lled on June 7. They k!lled him because they claimed they had warned that military personnel should not come closer.

They didn't k!ll them in our presence. They took them to another location to carry out the act. We could only hear their cries.

They kept us in a tent where we were chained and handcuffed throughout the 56 days. They blindfolded us, and whenever we wanted to urinate or defecate, we had to beg them.

They changed locations several times. We didn't stay in one place throughout the 56 days. Sometimes, they hit us with guns. We often suffered punishment for offences committed by the little children.

When it was time for them to pray, they never joked with it. They prayed a lot and recited the Quran. They never missed their prayers or Quran recitation.

The terr0r!sts said they didn't want money. What they wanted was for their people who had been arrested to be released. That was their demand. We, the men, suffered a lot. They must not see us praying. Anytime they noticed we were praying, they would beat us mercilessly. They said they didn't want us to pray or call on Jesus.

When he was asked how they were rescued, he said the terr0r!sts willingly released them. They asked us to leave because the military had arrested some of their family members. They told us to go so that their families could also be released.

When we were released, they directed us on the route to follow. They told us we would cross two streams and that after crossing them, we would see the soldiers waiting to receive us.

I was the one carrying everyone when we reached the streams. I carried most of the little children because many of them had become very weak. After a short trek, we met the security personnel who had been waiting for us.

It was a bitter experience. They mostly gave us rice with red palm oil, without pepper, and sometimes it was just plain rice without salt or oil.

There was a time they k!lled a deer and a grasscutter for us. After they k!lled Mr. John Olaleye, their attitude towards us changed. They began treating us better and became less cruel. They changed after hearing that some of their family members had been arrested by the soldiers.

On the day we were to be released, they asked if we wanted to bathe, but we said no because we were eager to leave the forest. They told us to get ready because we would be going home that day.

When we arrived in Ibadan, one of the military commanders asked if I could identify the terr0r!sts if I saw their photographs. He showed me some pictures, and I was able to identify one of them. They told us they had arrested eight of the terr0r!sts and that others had been neutr@lised.

We thank God that we survived, but we are deeply saddened that Mr. Michael Oyedokun and Mr. John Olaleye could not return with us."
