The European Public Law Organization EPLO - European Public Law Organization organized a Study Tour in Italy (22–28 March) for 16 senior Jordanian officials as part of the -funded “Support to Public Administration Reform in Jordan” project. Italian expertise was leveraged through exchanges with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the National School of Administration, the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency, and a strategic session with Prof. Giuliano Amato, former Prime Minister of Italy.

Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo

H.E. Luciano Pezzotti, the Ambassador of Italy to Jordan, and HRH Prince Mired Raad Zeid Al-Hussein, Lord Chamberlain and President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), signed a 1.6 million Euro funding Agreement to support mental health in Jordan. In addition to supporting reforms of Jordan’s mental health policies and strategy, the initiative will provide capacity building to primary health care workers, mental health professionals, and organizations of persons with disabilities, as well as carry out some infrastructural rehabilitation at mental health clinics in the Irbid governorate and conduct creative workshops for persons with psychosocial disabilities.

Yesterday, Italy signed a €1.75 million grant agreement with the Jordanian Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) to upgrade wastewater infrastructure and WASH services in the Al-Soukhneh Palestinian camp. The initiative will benefit nearly 7,000 residents in the camp and surrounding communities, delivering substantial improvements in public health and environmental protection.

Ieri, 3 dicembre, presso il Ministero dell’Agricoltura della regione del Kurdistan Regional Government iracheno ad Erbil, si è tenuta la prima riunione del comitato di coordinamento del progetto KORES, dedicato allo sviluppo sostenibile della filiera dell’olio.
Finanziato dal Ministero degli Esteri italiano - Direzione Generale della Cooperazione allo Sviluppo - tramite l’Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo e realizzato da CIHEAMBari, il progetto punta a rafforzare un settore chiave per le comunità agricole e rurali locali.
Durante l’incontro sono stati approvati i primi risultati e il Piano di Lavoro che darà avvio operativo alle attività.
L’Italia e il Governo Regionale del Kurdistan hanno confermato l’impegno congiunto a far crescere una filiera olivicola moderna, sostenibile e competitiva, sulla base dell’esperienza italiana.

Yesterday, 3 December, in Erbil, at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq, the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the KORES Project took place. The initiative is dedicated to promoting the sustainable development of the olive oil value chain.

Funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Directorate General for Development Cooperation – through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by CIHEAM Bari, the project aims to strengthen a key sector for local farming and rural communities.

During the meeting, the initial results were endorsed and the General Work Plan was approved, paving the way for the start of activities.

Italy and the Kurdistan Regional Government reaffirmed their joint commitment to building a modern, sustainable and competitive olive oil sector, drawing on Italian expertise.

AICS Amman aderisce alla campagna contro la violenza sulle donne

Lo staff di AICS Amman si unisce con convinzione all'iniziativa globale della campagna internazionale contro la violenza sulle donne.
La violenza di genere, in tutte le sue forme, rappresenta una violazione dei diritti umani e un ostacolo allo sviluppo sostenibile. Per questo, AICS Amman rinnova il proprio impegno a promuovere l’uguaglianza di genere e la protezione delle donne e delle ragazze, in linea con gli strumenti operativi e le linee guida dell’Agenzia, che pongono l’analisi di genere al centro della programmazione e dell’azione.
La nostra adesione non è solo simbolica: si traduce in interventi concreti sul territorio, volti a prevenire e contrastare la violenza di genere, anche nelle sue forme più recenti come la violenza facilitata dalla tecnologia (TF-GBV).
