作家の工房見学とアートガラス（小皿）作り

で行われるガラス作家・鑛納 未來さんの個展とコラボレーションし、会期中の１日限定特別企画として、IN KANAZAWA HOUSEの築100年の町家にて 『作家の工房見学&アートガラス(小皿)作り体験 』を行います。
このイベントでは、金沢の町家をリノベーションした作家の工房を見学した後、今回だけの特別企画として、工房にてガラス板にサンドブラストでお好みのデザインを彫っていただいたものを、後日作家が小皿の形に焼成し仕上げるアートガラス作品づくりを体験していただけます。（作品は後日送付にてお届けとなります。 ）

金沢の町家をリノベーションした静かな工房で、ガラス作家本人と一緒に、光と色の世界を体験してみませんか？ぜひお気軽にご参加ください。

An exhibition by ceramic artist Maika Hirano, who previously held an exhibition at IN KANAZAWA HOUSE, opens today at atelier & gallery creava.
These photos were taken at IN KANAZAWA HOUSE during her previous exhibition.
Her delicate, soft, and beautifully crafted works are truly wonderful. We hope you’ll have a chance to visit the exhibition at atelier & gallery creava and experience her work in person.

There is something special about seeing yourself through beautiful travel memories. It's even more true when you are wearing traditional kimono.

A little glimpse into our Private Kanazawa Bar Hopping Tour 🍸🍷🍻✨

On this experience, our local guide takes you through Kanazawa after dark, revealing a side of the city that feels completely different from its daytime charm.

We offer three different styles of nightlife experiences, each showcasing a unique side of Kanazawa:

On this particular evening, we took a family of four visiting from Switzerland to Katamachi, Kanazawa’s liveliest nightlife district.
We visited a hidden local izakaya known for its warm-hearted “mama,” as well as a cozy spot where they could enjoy delicious local dishes.
With plenty of great food and drinks, they had a relaxed, fun-filled evening experiencing the local side of Kanazawa. 😊

この日スイスからいらした４人のご家族の方をご案内したのは、金沢で最も賑わう夜の街、片町。
名物の「お母さん」がいる隠れ家的な居酒屋や、居心地の良い地元料理を楽しめるお店で、たくさんの美味しいお料理とお酒と共に、リラックスした楽しい時間を過ごしていただけました😊

Attended a memorial service for Princess Tamahime at Tentoku-in Temple in Kodatsuno, Kanazawa. Tentoku-in was built in 1623 by Maeda Tosh*tsune, the 3rd lord of the Kaga Domain, to honor his wife, Princess Tamahime. This annual service is held on August 9th, the anniversary of her passing. During the ceremonial Iaido performance, a distinguished master from Yokokan—the historic Kanazawa dojo that leads our Iaido experiences at IN KANAZAWA HOUSE—took part as one of the demonstrators. The powerful, breathtaking performance in the silent, charged atmosphere was truly awe-inspiring.

金沢市小立野にある「天徳院」にて執り行われた、珠姫さまの供養法会へ。
天徳院は、加賀藩3代藩主・前田利常公が正室である珠姫さまの菩提を弔うため、元和9年（1623年）に創建した寺院です。珠姫さまのご命日（元和8年7月3日）にあたる8月9日に、毎年この供養法会が行われています。
この日に行われた奉納居合では、私たちの居合道体験でもお世話になっている「養浩館」の先生のお姿がありました。
張り詰めた空気の中で繰り広げられる一刀一刀に圧倒され、息をのむ素晴らしい演武でした。

A quiet morning at IN KANAZAWA HOUSE. Dark clouds gather over the city with distant thunder and falling rain. Inside the machiya, the soft gloom feels almost like twilight. This long-awaited rain brings a soothing stillness, letting time flow just a little slower.
By the way, did you know that there’s a giant Tengu mask located deep inside the second floor of IN KANAZAWA HOUSE?

今朝のIN KANAZAWA HOUSE。朝から黒い雲が立ち込め、雷がなり、雨が降っています。町家の中は薄暗く、まるで夕刻のよう。でも久しぶりのしとしと降る雨に、町家に流れる時間がさらにゆっくりと感じられ、癒しをもたらしてくれます。
ちなみに、IN KANAZAWA HOUSEの２階奥には、巨大な天狗のお面が。皆さん、知ってました？

Discover Kanazawa’s Machiya: Past, Present & Future — with an Architect

Kanazawa is home to a remarkable number of traditional machiya townhouses, many of which were built before 1950 and remain in use today.
With their narrow “eel-bed” layouts, lattice doors, inner courtyards, deep eaves and earthen floors, these homes reflect the wisdom of adapting architecture to Kanazawa’s climate and way of life.
On this private experience, an architect involved in the preservation and renovation of machiya will personally guide you through select townhouses that are normally closed to the public.
Explore the evolution of machiya architecture from the late Edo period through the early Showa era, and discover how historic buildings are being thoughtfully transformed into cafés, restaurants, shops and accommodation while retaining their original character.
Rather than simply preserving the past, Kanazawa has developed a culture of keeping historic spaces alive and giving them new purpose.
See the city through the eyes of an architect, and discover how its architectural heritage continues to shape Kanazawa today.

The other day, we had the pleasure of welcoming a guest from overseas for a private Zen meditation and sutra copying (Shakyo) experience.
Set in a Zen temple with over 400 years of history, tucked away in the Teramachi district of Kanazawa, the experience offered a peaceful and meaningful moment away from the busy pace of everyday life.
Surrounded by a moss-covered garden, the gentle scent of wood, and the soothing sound of the wind, our guest experienced the quiet practice of Zen meditation and Shakyo in a truly tranquil setting.
Our guest was looking for a peaceful travel experience that would also provide an opportunity to connect with local people. We were delighted to help make that wish come true.

先日、海外からのお客様が、「坐禅」と「写経」の体験をして下さいました。金沢市寺町に佇む、400年以上の歴史を持つ禅寺での、豊かなプライベート時間。
苔むした庭、木の香りが漂う本堂、そして風の音すら心地よく感じられる空間で行われる、日常の喧騒から離れた心を落ち着ける「座禅」と「写経」の体験。「静かな場所で現地の方とも触れ合えるような旅にしたい」というお客様の想いに応えられて、私たちもとても嬉しかったです。
