Unfortunately due to injury Seth won't be cleared to race in Townsville next weekend.
Seth will now have a month off racing and hopefully he is back to good health and ready to go for Thunder in the Canefields!
Last night started off with a win and ended with a roll over! 🫣
Heat 1 Seth started 1st and finished 1st
Heat 2 started 7th and finished 4th
Heat 3 he started 6th and finished 2nd
In the Feature Seth started 1st, he hit a rut on the first lap and spun out which restarted the race. He was in 2nd position on the 5th lap when he hit another rut which caused something to either come loose or break in the LH front suspension causing the brake calliper to snap off. When this happened Seth had no steering and no brakes and went straight into the wall and flipped the car. 😳
He was winded and jarred his back but managed to get himself out of the car and walk away.
He’s quite sore today but he’s doing ok! 👌
The car is now in pieces and being assessed for damage! 😭 Not sure when we will be back on the track but next weekend has been cancelled for the Formula 500s.
Shout out to those who helped Seth and came over to check on him. Thanks to Shane & Rob for their help in the pits and to the family and friends who came out to support Seth.

It was a good night being back on the Cairns track. The Cairns Speedway have been busy over the off season building up the track and the pits.

This Saturday Speedway may have been cancelled but Seth will still get some seat time… in a go kart !! He will be racing at the Mako Track in Mareeba for Round 2 of the NQ Series. 🤙

This Saturdays race meet in Mareeba has been cancelled!
🚨 EVENT UPDATE 🚨
Unfortunately, due to a lack of nominations, Mareeba Speedway has made the difficult decision to cancel this Saturday night's race meeting.
This decision is never made lightly. Like many smaller regional clubs, we rely on strong competitor nominations and community support to make race meetings viable. Unfortunately, with many drivers currently committed to the Northern Nationals Series, nomination numbers were simply too low for us to proceed with a full race program.
Rather than closing the gates completely, we will be holding a Practice Night instead.
🏁 Practice Commences: 6:00pm
🏁 Driver Entry: $80
🏁 Spectator Entry: FREE
🏁 Canteen & Bar: OPEN
We'd love to see drivers take advantage of the opportunity to get some laps in, test new setups, and prepare for upcoming events.
To everyone who continues to support Mareeba Speedway, thank you. Regional speedway clubs play an important role in keeping grassroots motorsport alive, and we hope to see stronger nomination numbers at future events so we can continue bringing racing to the Tablelands.

What an awesome way to kick off the season up here!
Seth raced in Mareeba last night for the season opener and although we thought it was all over in Heat 1 we ended the night on a high 🥳
Heat 1 Seth spun on the track and was slammed into by another driver which cracked the front of the chassis 😫 BUT with the help of Daryl & Ryan Skennar they used a ratchet strap to hold the chassis together! 🤗
Seth will be keeping that ratchet strap for the rest of his days as it got him his first feature win!!! 🏆
