オイル系ルブは粘度が高いとネチョネチョと抵抗が強くなってゴミを拾いやすく、粘度が低ければ静音性や耐久距離が落ちる。
変速機を持たないピストバイクは、ダイレクトに足元の抵抗を感じ取りやすいだけに違和感を抱えるライダーも多いはず。
そこでBROTURESが出した答えは「ワックス」でした。
オイルよりも軽いフィーリングなのに、環境耐性が高く、初期性能が長続きするのが特徴。
ワックスは通常、固形のものを鍋などで溶かしてチェーンに定着させる必要があり、手間な作業が多いのがネック。
その弱点を克服するためにスキーワックスの専門メーカー、GALLIUMの液体ワックスを採用しました。
さらにSTREET GLIDEは既存のリキッドワックスよりも静音性に優れます。
そのための適切な粘度をもたせつつ、独自配合により短時間(1~2時間)で浸透・定着させることに成功しました。

Developed together by GALLIUM and BROTURES, it’s a premium 100% Japanese-made liquid wax l**e.
Oil-based l**es force a trade-off: thick oil grips well but turns gummy, picking up grit and dirt; thin oil stays quiet but wears out fast. Because fixed-gear bikes have no derailleur, riders feel every bit of drivetrain resistance directly underfoot — many have felt that friction working against them.
Our answer was wax.
It delivers a lighter feel than oil, with stronger resistance to grime and longer-lasting initial performance. Traditional wax, though, usually means melting a solid block and dipping the chain — a slow, hands-on process. To solve that, we adopted the liquid wax formula from GALLIUM, a specialist manufacturer of ski wax.
STREET GLIDE goes further, running quieter than existing liquid waxes. We tuned the viscosity for that quiet ride, and developed a proprietary blend that penetrates and sets in just 1–2 hours.
The result: the ride feel and environmental resistance of wax, with the ease of application you’d expect from oil.
