ULSTER SQUAD TRAINING

Following on from the competition in the Czech Republic last weekend, Irish Internationals Sophia and Tim of Kyokan Judo successfully completed the training camp alongside hundreds of other top European cadets, and supported throughout by Irish National Coach Eoin Fleming of Yamakwai Judo Club.

Meanwhile, continuing the hard work behind the scenes, Joshua Green of Konarakai Judo Club completed the Olympic Training Camp in Hungary, with other members of The Official Camberley Judo Club including Irelands Bearach Gleeson.

Congratulations Peggy Magee.of Portaferry School of Judo and Simply Judo. Following her final assessment, Peggy was promoted to a National B referee yesterday at the Irish Schools Championships.

Irish Judo

Ulster Judo athletes compete on 5 fronts this weekend.

Representing Ireland is Callum Green of Konarakai Judo Club who travels to Africa to compete at the Dakar African Open in Senegal. Travelling with Callum is Team NI Commonwealth Games Performance Lead Paul Green, where 26 nations taking part.

Joshua Green also of Konarakai representing Ireland, heads to the Dubrovnik Senior European Cup, and stepping up a weight category this weekend.

Also representing Ireland in Czech Republic, are Tim and Sophia of Kyokan Judo at the Cadet European Cup 2026 in Teplice. National Coach Eoin Fleming of Yamakwai Judo Club leading the team, featuring over 700 competitors.

Closer to home:
A large Ulster team will compete at the Irish Schools Championships in Dublin on Sunday, with another large contingent travelling to London for the British Veteran Open.
