A PROUD ASIAN GAMES FOR THAI SURFING 🌊
NSP and Surf SUP Warehouse (SSWH) are proud to celebrate our three riders, Annissa “Annie” Flynn, Natthakron “Nine” Sae-Iew and Tinn “Makham” Johnson, after representing Thailand at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Surfing made its Asian Games debut at Pacific Long Beach in Tahara, bringing together many of Asia’s best surfers, including Olympians and leading international competitors.
🏄♀️ Annie Flynn won her opening heat and Round 3 to reach the Asian Games quarterfinals, finishing equal fifth in Asia.
🏄 Nine Sae-Iew reached the final 16, highlighted by an 11.20 heat total and a huge 6.50-point Air Reverse, the highest-scoring individual wave by a Thai surfer at the event.
🏄 Makham Johnson, at just 17 years old and competing in his first Asian Games, fought back to win his Round 2 heat and earn his place in the final 16.
Thailand’s Izzy Higgs also reached the women’s quarterfinals, recording the Thai team’s highest heat total of 12.10.
That meant both Thai women finished fifth equal in Asia, while both Thai men finished ninth equal.
Our three riders had both the NSP Slot Machine and NSP Chopstix in their competition quivers, giving them options to match their equipment to the conditions.
A huge thank you to the Thailand Surfing Federation, the coaches and support team, the athletes’ families, Rip Curl Thailand, Joker Pattamakome and everyone who supported Team Thailand in Japan.
Special thanks to Ton Sukpitak for the photos.
The Asian Games may be over, but the next goal is clear.
Road to LA28.
