Pray for the Deeper Life Meetings happening this week on August 18&19. The theme this year is “Remain in My Love.” Pray for God’s blessing.

Hoy nuestra amada Colombia está sufriendo en gran manera a causa del devastador terremoto que afectó a varios departamentos; muchas vidas se han perdido y hay muchas afectaciones en general. Ponemos nuestra mirada al cielo y levantamos un clamor unidos por aquellos que más sufren; pedimos a nuestro buen Dios que traiga consuelo y fortaleza a cada familia.

Hasta el momento tenemos muy poca información acerca de afectaciones en miembros de nuestra Familia Aliancista en las distintas ciudades y municipios afectados; hay muchos fallos en los sistemas de comunicación, pero confiamos en que todos puedan estar hoy con sus familias.

Unámonos en oración para que Dios inunde de paz, calma y consuelo los hogares que han perdido a un familiar.

Oremos por dirección y sabiduría para las autoridades de nuestro país en la gestión de esta emergencia.

Oremos por provisión para quienes lo han perdido todo.

Confiamos en Dios y en su infinita misericordia; sabemos que en medio de esta difícil situación ya son muchos los que se están levantando para ser luz y reflejar el amor de Jesús en medio de tanto dolor y sufrimiento, porque esto es lo que mejor nos identifica como iglesia.

Gracias Familia Aliancista en Colombia y el mundo, por estar pendientes de nosotros, unidos somos más fuertes.

Rev. Robert Long, former missionary to Japan, passed away on August 6, 2026 at the age of 87. He was born on March 6, 1939 in Ellwood City, PA.

Robert, or “Bob” to colleagues and friends, served with the US Navy in Japan where he found the Lord. He returned to Japan as an Alliance missionary with his wife, Lois, in October 1967 and served for many years in Osaka, Fukuoka, and Yoshiura near Kure. Together they started the Kotesashi Alliance Church in the Tokyo area in 1984. The Longs had a willingness to go anywhere there was a need.

Robert had a deep understanding of the Japanese culture and way of thinking and served with humility. Robert was a member of the North Mar Alliance Church in Warren, Ohio and served as the visitation pastor after returning from Japan.

Robert is survived by his two children, Lisa & Nathan, who live in the Warren area. Two granddaughters, Emili and Emma, live in Tokyo, Japan.

元日本宣教師ロバート・ロング牧師が2026年8月6日に87歳で死去しました。彼は1939年3月6日にペンシルバニア州エルウッドシティで生まれた。

ロバートは、同僚や友人たちにとって「ボブ」とも呼ばれ、日本で米海軍に勤務し、そこで主と出会いました。 彼は1967年10月に妻のロイスとともにアライアンス宣教師として日本に戻って、大阪、福岡、呉近郊の吉浦で長年奉仕した。 二人は 1984 年に東京地区に小手指アライアンス教会を設立しました。ロング夫妻は、必要があればどこにでも行く意欲を持っていました。

ロバートは日本の文化や考え方を深く理解し、謙虚な態度で対応してくれました。 ロバートはオハイオ州ウォーレンにあるノース・マー・アライアンス教会の会員で、日本から帰国後は訪問牧師を務めました。

ロバートには、ウォーレン地域に住む 2 人の子供、リサとネイサンが残されています。 2 人の孫娘、エミリとエマは日本の東京に住んでいます。

Welcome Thaos to Japan! Tou Lee and Taaj arrived in June to serve with Envision in Tokyo. The Thaos had previously served in Bangkok, Thailand. They have three children. After their study of Japanese they will be hosting team and doing discipleship. Pray for them as they get adjusted to life in Tokyo. Thank you for coming to Japan!

タオさんご一家、日本へようこそ！トゥー・リーさんとタングさんは、「東京エンビジョン（Envision）」での働きに携わるため、6月に到着されました。以前はタイのバンコクで奉仕されていました。ご一家には、3人のお子さんがいらっしゃいます。日本語を学んだ後は、チームの受け入れや弟子訓練の働きをする予定です。東京での生活に慣れていけるよう、お祈りください。日本に来てくださり、ありがとうございます！

次世代を支えるとは、単に若者たちに「あなたたちは大切な存在だ」と伝えること以上の意味があります。それは、弟子としての訓練（ディサイプルシップ）、励まし、祈り、そして地元の教会の生活や奉仕活動への有意義な関わりを通じて、彼らがキリストに従う者として成長できるよう、意図的に助けることを意味します。

どの教会でも、シンプルかつ意図的な一歩から始めることができます。例えば、若者と定期的にコミュニケーションを取る、信仰の成熟した信徒と共に奉仕するよう招く、信頼できるメンターとつなぐ、神から与えられた賜物を伸ばす機会を設ける、そして彼ら一人ひとりの名前を挙げて誠実に祈ることなどです。

キリストを中心とした次世代の弟子を育てることは、一朝一夕に成し遂げられるものではありません。それは、一貫した誠実さをもって、一つひとつの人間関係、機会、そして従順な歩みを積み重ねていく中で育まれていくものです。

若者がキリストにあって成長するのを助けるために、あなたの教会では今週、どのような意図的な一歩を踏み出すことができるでしょうか。

60 children attended the English VBS at Tokyo Shibuya Evangelical Church. Praise God for blessing this outreach!

東京渋谷福音教会で行われた英語VBSに、60人の子供たちが参加しました。このアウトリーチを祝福してくださった神に感謝します。
