It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we confirm the passing of our former player and brother, Obiero Solomon, following a tragic hit-and-run incident in Nairobi.

Solomon was not just a player, he was a pillar of our foundation.

A founding member of MMUST Rugby Club in 2007, the team that later evolved into the Western Bulls Rugby Club in October 2011, Obi dedicated his life to the badge and the brotherhood it represents. He wore our colours with pride from inception and remained committed to the club until the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Over the years, he served not only as a dependable player but also transitioned into a leadership role as a player-coach. His influence on and off the pitch shaped the culture and identity of this club.

At the end of the 2023 season, Solomon took up a new challenge as Head Coach of the African Nazarene University Rugby Team, continuing his calling to mentor and grow the sport he loved.

His commitment, humility, and belief in Western Bulls will forever remain part of our story.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and the entire rugby fraternity during this painful time. May God grant them strength and comfort.

Rest in peace, Solomon.
Once a Bull, Always a Bull. πŸ‚πŸ•ŠοΈ

𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐁 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄!

The management of Western Bulls would like to inform our fans, partners and stakeholders that all 22 players are safe following a road accident at Timboroa while traveling back to Kakamega from our KRU Championship fixture against Mean Machine in Nairobi.

Two players sustained minor injuries and will undergo precautionary scans upon arrival in Kakamega. We are grateful that no serious injuries were reported.

We thank God for His protection and appreciate the concern and support shown by our fans and the rugby fraternity during this time.

Further updates will be communicated in due course.

𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐁 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄!

Western Bulls RFC extends its heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Cleo Malalah for his commitment to nurturing rugby talent through his continued sponsorship of the club.

Following the successful hosting of the inaugural CLEO Malalah SUPER CUP (Malalah 7’s)the partnership between Western Bulls RFC and the Cleo Malala Super Cup has taken another major step forward, with an initial sponsorship of KSh 130,000, and more support expected in the coming days.

This timely and much-needed boost enabled the team to travel to Nairobi for league duties, including yesterday’s clash against NYS Spades, as well as the upcoming fixture against USIU.

Such support goes beyond the gameβ€”it empowers our players, strengthens our structures, and reinforces our shared vision of building a competitive and sustainable rugby club both on and off the pitch.

We are truly grateful for the continued belief and backing as we push for excellence.

Mike Ligono, Club Chairman.
