Veteran golfer Gregory Ombito beat a field of well over 60 golfers to emerge the winner of MMUST sponsored Gold Fields Club Championship. Mr Ombito, a prominent lawyer needed late drama to clinch the much coveted tittle as the obvious winner Mr Hesbon Litali was disqualified under Rule 6-6d of the R&A golf rules. The Runner Up was Mr Busolo Logan while 3rd overall was Mr Julius Oketch. In the Nett category, Club Captain Clarence Misango carried the day beating seasoned brother golfers Maichi Abraham and John Anyonyi. The next set of prizes saw Kunal Chandaria and George Oribo winning day one and two respectively. Club Chairman Eliud Siganga emerged the nearest to the Pin winner while Charles Aburi, and Damari Omoori won the longest drive men/ladies repsectively.

The tournament was graced by Kenya's finest golfer Dismas Indiza. In his appreciation speech, the Ag VC MUSST Prof Rotich affirmed the institutions commitment to nurturing talent and reiterated the institutions desire to see the game of golf and other games grow. to this regard he mentioned of university scholarship for Junior who excelled in sports.
