Schools, hotels and clubs with swimming pools in Kisumu are advised to obtain water safety certificate which is renewed annually. The federation in conjunction with other relevant government departments will be conducting a water safety audit in a bid to mitigate drowning in the county. Any facility flouting water safety guidelines set by the Federation will be closed. It is a sad state of affairs that swimming pools have become a death trap after pool owners knowingly or unknowingly continue to employ rogue coaches and lifeguards who are not qualified. Any coach or lifeguard working in any swimming pool in Kisumu must have his or her papers authenticated by KSF Kisumu. KSF Kisumu is public non profit making entity mandated to control and manage swimming or any aquatic sports in Kisumu and the Federation is affiliated to Kenya Swimming Federation , NOCK- Olympics Kenya CANA World Aquatics . We have been also working closely with Kisumu County Government-Kenya Schools, Kenya Academy of Sports Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association PIPSSA among other stakeholders in order to promote Swimming.
