The sports tournament provided a platform for local service providers to reach out to children and youth.

Playing football and planting trees. This was one of the session on the final day of the tournament.
Raising awareness on environment conservation was the main goal of this tournament. The students participated in planting trees within the venue for practical environmental practicals. We expect children to carry the practice back to their respective homes.

Four girls teams have participate in this tournament including Lakeside City FC, Nyalenda Scarlets, R.K. Scarlets- a guest team from Airport area, and Kisumu Eagles Scarlet.
The organizers of the tournament considered gender considerations from mobilization and planning stages.
Girl 2 Girl Organization is a key member of the Consortium that has organized this tournament, and it endures there is gender equality and inclusion throughout the tournament.

All the matches played in this tournament are officiated by referees nominated by FKF, Kisumu County Branch.
The Consortium that has organized the tournament insist on fair play and a just process.

In the picture is Mr. Erick Okioma of Nelson Mandela HIV and TB based organization had several sessions with children/youth on HIV/AIDS. It is important to take note that statistics indicate increased new HIV infections among Young poeple. It has also been reported that there has been STIs among youth and hence such SRHR information is very important.
Much thanks to the tournament as it also provides a forum of engagement among children/youth with local partners that give relevant services and information.

The boys teams played in two groups last Friday and Saturday. The first and second clubs from each group have moved to play semi-finals today Monday. Come watch the games and access information related to climate change shocks and how to adapt.

It's important that sports event is a great platform for social change awareness. Agencies and government department s that work with children/youth are encouraged to use this platform to reach children/youth with their services and information that they need. Already we have agencies working on drugs and substance, piece -building as well as sexual and reproductive health.

The main theme of this fourth edition tournament, 2025, is ''promotion of Resilient communities through SMART Adaptation strategies.''
Children and youth will be engaged to help them understand impacts of climate Change, causal factors, and why communities must adjust to adapt to survive climate shocks. That communities must strengthen it's social, economic and eco-systems to build capacities against climate events.

An expert from Kenya's National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug(NACADA) engaging and counselling youth on matters related to drugs and substance abuse. Both government agencies and civil society groups have lined up to engage children and youth on topical issues affecting them. The event will continue on Saturday, Monday and the finals Tuesday, 15/22/25. You are all welcome to participate either online or physically.

Nyalenda Sports Tournament began with earnest yesterday on Friday, 12/12/25 from 9.00 a.m. The games started with vetting all players to ensure only U-17 children played in the competition as shown in the attached photos. A total of 10 teams have registered to participate in the event. Both girls and boys Nyalenda community and one guest teams registered to participate. You are welcomed to follow at Pandpieri Comprehensive School .

Community Football and Netball clubs were represented by their coaches and, or other club leaders in the meeting attended by the consortium leaders. It was agreed by the key stakeholders that the sports tournament begin on Friday, 12/12/25. All our local residents are welcomed to play, Watch and learn during the tournament.

On-going planning meeting for Nyalenda sports tournament, 3rd Edition. Participants including representatives of the local community sports clubs. Involving key stakeholders in planning and ex*****on of the project is our management approach. The tournament is scheduled to run from 11/12/25 to 16/12/25.
