The momentum has been building for years, but 2025–2026 marks a turning point. In December 2024, Esports Kenya reached a milestone when it was formally recognised by the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK), placing Kenya among the nations officially embracing esports as a legitimate sport.

Kenyan skater Kevin Kiarie continues his dominant continental run, securing Gold at the 2026 Africa Skating Championships in Egypt. Kiarie’s victory in Cairo follows a breakthrough performance in Benin last month, where he overcame significant financial hurdles to claim Gold and Silver. His back-to-back podium finishes have cemented his status as one of Africa’s premier inline skaters.
