By celebrating the city, we mean highlighting all the beautiful running routes of the city and inviting the runners to go and discover them: Nyali Beach, Mama Ngina waterfront, Green wood drive, Pirate beach and much more

s group of city, the runners or active players in the running community allowing people to reach out to them directly: Eric Shikuku, Asijiki Fitness (Gladys), Mombasa Hash House harriers and more are joining as people get to know about Mombasa Run
Our objective is to invite runners / walkers and fitness enthusiasts from all over the country to come discover the beauty of Mombasa, connect with the runners of the city and have everyone running in different running routes of the city over a weekend. They will join the runners’ groups who will be running specific distances in different places, run alone or with a small group of friends. We will be announcing where the groups will run on our social media. Legendary Douglas Wakiihuri born in Mombasa will also be running as well as some run groups from other cities such as Tipwa Tipwa…
This is not a competitive run it is a fun run, it is open to everyone, once you register you get a good quality runner t shirt (polyester, rice Knit) and once you run and post a beautiful picture of your run on www.Mombasa.Run you qualify for the medal. We will be also featuring some hotel and transportation partners with great offers for people traveling from other cities. With the help and endorsement of Kenya Tourism board and Governor's office, we will strongly advertise the event all over Kenya, have water stations and medals collection points in the running routes over the weekend. When is Mombasa Run? Mombasa Run will be held over a weekend (Date TBC) to make it easy for everyone to participate. You can run any day of this weekend at any time. Upon registration & payment, you will receive details for the next steps. How to participate? Once you register, you shall receive details about the itinerary for the Mombasa Run and information about your t-shirt. Complete your run and submit your run details on the website to get listed on the Leaderboard and qualify for the medal. How to win my medal? Once you successfully complete and submit your run on the Mombasa Run website, you will receive an email with details about your medal. We have assorted some of the best running routes in and around the city of Mombasa. These include Mama Ngina Waterfront, Greenwood Drive, Nyali Beach, Pirates Beach and Downtown. Runners can either choose from these or run/suggest a route of their own. Mombasa Run is about exploring & rediscovering the white & blue city. What do I get for the fee of Registration? All registrants shall receive the official Mombasa Run T-shirt as well as an e-certificate upon completion. Registrants also have an option to avail Travel & Stay in Mombasa. Upon successful submission of their run, including the route, distance, estimated time and a vibrant picture of their run view, registrants also receive a medal. Is their an official ranking for Mombasa Run? No, there is no official ranking. Mombasa Run is not a race or a competition. The goal of Mombasa Run is to celebrate the city and create engagement in the community. Connect with your city in a new way. Explore new places. All registrants will get an e-certificate. How to make it fun? Browse our website to create your own cool bibs, learn more about our water stations, choose your running routes or suggest amazing ones that we missed out. Engage with the runners communities or add your running group. Spread the word about Mombasa Run and inspire your friends & family. What time is Mombasa Run? Mombasa Run shall be held over a weekend (Date TBC). Runners can participate literally any time during this weekend. This is to avoid crowds at our selected running routes. What distance is Mombasa Run? There is no fixed distance. Mombasa Run is a run meant for runners of all capabilities and caliber. You can run as long as you like and for as far as you like on a route of your choice. Can I run with my family or friends? Definitely. Run as you like, run alone or run with friends, run with your spouse or with your children. We welcome runners in all formats. You can also run with run groups that we have listed on the website. Is there a start and finish line? No, there is no start or finish line. This is a run that celebrates the city and hence there is no start or finish point. You can run from any point to any point, at a route selected by us or a route of your own choosing. Will there be a gathering for the run? Mombasa Run aims to keep all it's participants safe, to adhere to all Covid-19 guidelines and to avoid crowds / gatherings. Therefore we have spread out the event across two days, multiple routes and flexible timings along with offering participants the option to run on any other route. This is to ensure dispersion of the participants across the run and avoid any gatherings. Where do I post my run? You can publish your run at a social media of your choosing and we also recommend registrants to submit their run on the Mombasa Run website (www.Mombasa.Run/submit-your-run/) to be part of the official leaderboard. For social media, make sure you tag us with the hashtag #MombasaRun or our account @MombasaRun. How do I track my run? You can track your Mombasa Run with any tracking app of your choosing. This can be through a fitness tracker or even your mobile phone. Just make sure you submit your tracked or estimated run with a vibrant image of your run view on the Mombasa Run website to be part of the official leaderboard. Does Mombasa Run have a running BIB? Yes we do, and not just one, we have many cool Mombasa Run bibs to choose from. Head over to our bib page and design a bib that represents you. How will I receive my certificate? Once Mombasa Run concludes, we will be sharing an e-certificate to all registrants via email. Register now using the form. I registered, where do I get my t shirt? The registration form allows you to either have your T-shirt delivered to you or you can choose to pick up your T-shirt from a location that you find suitable from our options. We have multiple athletes & running groups enlisted and Mombasa Run is open to all residents & tourists in Mombasa. People from all ages are encouraged to participate. Follow us @MombasaRun on social media to stay tuned. Is there a prize money? The goal of MombasaRun is to celebrate the city and create engagement in the community. All registrants will also get a run t-shirt, an e-certificate. Submit your run on the leaderboard to qualify for the medal. In order to participate, first register on www.Mombasa.Run. During the weekend of the run, wear your Mombasa Run T-shirt and run Mombasa at a route of your choice with friends / family or any of our run groups. Be sure to capture a great picture of your run that you can upload to the website leaderboard in order to qualify for the medal. Upon completing your run, please submit your run details and a picture on the Mombasa Run website leaderboard in order to qualify for the medal. Upon submission of your run, you will receive an email with details about your medal. If you have already submitted and did not receive an email, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Can I travel to Mombasa for the run? Yes, we would runners from all over Kenya to visit Mombasa for the Mombasa Run.
