The organising committee of the Run Mombasa Half Marathon 2026 wishes you a Happy Labour Day.

Every week at Shimo la Tewa Community Sports Ground in Shanzu, Mombasa, young athletes show up with dreams but without something as basic as safe sanitation. Many boys and girls still change or relieve themselves in nearby bushes.

Every great community is built on dignity, opportunity, and hope.

At Tajiriba Africa, we believe that sports can transform lives, but only when the spaces where young people train, play, and grow are safe and accessible. At the Shimo la Tewa community Sports Ground, hundreds of young athletes gather every week chasing dreams, building discipline, and staying away from negative influences. Yet, one basic need remains unmet: proper sanitation facilities.

The Run Mombasa Half Marathon is more than a race, it is a movement. By signing up, you are not just running 5KM, 10KM, or 21KM. You are helping build an ablution block at a total cost of KSh2,500,000 that will restore dignity, improve hygiene, and create a safer environment for an entire community.
