The Legacy of George Mutimba

In the football circles of Khalaba Ward, the name George Mutimba commands great respect. A dead-ball specialist with a natural eye for goal, Mutimba remains one of the finest strikers the ward has ever produced. His talent, composure and ability to decide big matches made him a household name among local football lovers.

Whenever there was a heated derby between Musamba Youth Olympic and Khalaba Central, Mutimba was always the man to watch. His performances often became the talk of the town, thrilling fans with his skill, leadership and sharp finishing in front of goal.

During his playing career, Mutimba proudly featured for Musamba Youth Olympic and also played for Harambe United before earning opportunities at higher levels with, Chemilil FC and Nzoia Sugar FC. His journey through these clubs showcased not only his football talent, but also his discipline, determination and commitment to the game.

Beyond his playing days, George Mutimba successfully transitioned into coaching. He took charge of Compel FC and played a major role in building the club from the ground up, nurturing it step by step into a respected side. His dedication, vision and passion helped shape the foundation of the club’s growth and success.

After serving diligently as head coach, Mutimba later resigned from his role at Compel FC. Currently, he continues to impact young talents as the head coach of Bukembe Boys, where his experience and football knowledge continue to inspire the next generation.

George Mutimba’s football journey is a story of passion, leadership and service to the game, a true football icon in Khalaba Ward history.
