Gathonis Garden - Mashujaa Day Fun

At 5:23 pm, yesterday evening (26/4/15), the 147th tree was planted. Mission accomplished. A fun filled, challenging, backbreaking but fulfilling weekend finally ended. I was misty- eyed; we have done our part to keep the memory of the 147 alive and contributed to the global mission to plant a billion trees.

It is right and fitting to ask ourselves difficult questions about the Garissa Massacre and, to ponder what steps need to be taken to ensure our security, not just in terms of physical security but also, how we can reverse adverse climatic changes brought about by global warming that threaten our welfare.

Special mention to Dr Maluki who braved the hot sun to plant trees the whole day and Rasta (Makuti tree nurseries) whose gallant efforts were very encouaging. Can't forget Junior, Joshua and Loshi - its never to early to learn. Thanks again.
