DAY 38 OF 100 DAYS OF REBUILDING MARRIAGE CREDIBILITY
Collet & Joshua Karim
We have been married for 10 years.
These years have been the best years of our lives. The years have been full of joy, laughter, great friendship, amazing chemistry above all the favour of God has been on us through out the entire time. I ( Joshua) can testify that the promises of God in Proverbs 18:22 _that says He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord are completely true because that's all we have experience in this marriage since from day one.
Communication was a great issue in our first year of marriage because I (Collet) was dealing with Anger problems from my family drama and trauma. God came through our Pastor who identified the root cause. We have learned to communicate by setting aside time to talk without interruption from people or distractions like phones, computers or television.We think about what we want to say, be clear about it and communicate clearly to each other and also minding our tone of voice.
We quickly graduated from lovers/fighters to Best friends glory to God.

To us Marriage is like your favorite meal being served, how you eat it will determine whether you will enjoy it or not. For example our favorite meal is Ugali and mrenda. Imagine trying to eat it with a spoon just because we don't want to get our hands dirty. But if we make the decision to do the work and wash our hands before eating we will definitely get the maximum satisfaction from the food. Marriages do work but you have to put in the time and efforts for it to work and with God at the center, everything will be easier.
