Furious executives from Premier League clubs are demanding an explanation from the Premier League after Chelsea escaped a points deduction. Chelsea were fined only £10 million and given a suspended transfer ban after Premier League found 36 separate undisclosed payments totalling £47.5 million made “to 12 persons or entities on behalf of the club”.
They view it as lenient sanctions with no sporting sanctions and no points deductions.

Mexico national football team’s starting goalkeeper Luis Ángel Malagón is ruled out of the World Cup after tearing his Achilles tendon. This could see 40-year-old Guillermo Ochoa replace him and feature in his sixth World Cup. He currently plays in the Cyprus league.

Xabi Alonso's agent Inaki Ibanez has denied reports of an agreement with Liverpool for the manager’s job:

"Everything that has been reported about an agreement with Liverpool is merely speculation from the press."

He added that Alonso is currently studying all the offers that come his way as he decides on his next destination for next season.

He was unsuccessful in bidding for the two IPL expansion franchises, which became Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, back in 2021.

Avram Glazer is one of the owners of Manchester United and NFL franchise Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he also has a business interest in cricket. Glazer owns Desert Vipers, one of the franchises in the UAE’s ILT20 tournament, through his company Lancer Capital and has been keen to break into the Indian market for years.

Former Chelsea skipper John Terry has slammed Arsenal for 'celebrating too much' after the North London side beat Chelsea in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final to book their spot at the Carabao Cup final at Wembley next month:

'I just want to talk on Arsenal's celebrations after… let's not forget, it's the Carabao Cup, it's not the Champions League final,

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher says the death of Diogo Jota means performances and results at his old club are not quite as important this season.The 27-year-old said that for his former club it was "more about them personally and mentally" than anything else this season:

"Obviously, football is a massive sport and people have an opinion, which is natural. People expect you to move on quite quickly, and I don't think that's the case," Kelleher said.

"I find it a bit strange and a bit difficult when I hear people speaking about the players at Liverpool and the performances, because I don't think this season is even important from a football aspect for them."

He acknowledged that coming to terms with Jota's death had been "a bit easier" since he was no longer at Anfield:

"I stay in touch with some of the guys there, I have a lot of good friends there. It's a very difficult time for them, a difficult season, with circumstances that people probably aren't taking into account too much,"

"But it's probably been a bit easier for me, being away from it, and not being in such close proximity to it every day.

"From an individual aspect, for me to leave and play first-team football was obviously right, never mind the tragedy that happened. " ( BBC)

Luis Enrique will snub a move to Manchester United to sign a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
Manchester United officials recently travelled to Paris to hold talks with the Spanish tactician as part of their plans for the summer, with Enrique’s current contract nearing its expiration.
However, the former Catalan boss was said to be unconvinced by Manchester United’s long-term project and declined the opportunity to take over at Old Trafford.
